Welcome!

Terry "at home"
The "lesser striped" Terry
in his natural habitat!

Hi, My name is Terry Mullender and I hail from Hever, in Kent - UK.

At the beginning of 2009, after almost 26 years of unbroken service with Kent Wildlife Trust, I felt the time had come to spread my wings and take a broader look at the surrounding area as well as trying to develop certain business interests within the field.

Having served for some 14 years as assistant to the legendary Roy Coles at Bough Beech Reservoir's nature reserve and for over 11 years as head honorary warden at Cowden Pound Pastures I am looking forward, with some technical assistance from Andy Barnett, to re-launching the old "cowden-pound-pastures.org.uk" website as a far broader, and hopefully more interesting source of "natural world" information for West Kent.

Freed from the strictures of my previous position, I hope that this site will evolve over time, not only as an interesting source of information for Cowden Pound Pastures but also as a sort of kaleidoscope of local places of interest, rural and natural history as well as showcasing the kind of services that I am able to offer to the world at large.

I have no formal qualifications in ecology but do have a lifetimes experience in the field of natural history and nature conservation, with hands on experience of species monitoring and habitat creation and maintenance across a wide variety of environments.

PLEASE NOTE: The views expressed on this website are my own and may not necessarily reflect those of Kent Wildlife Trust.
